 Salamanders are amazing amphibians with a story to tell! These adorable cold-blooded creatures have unique life cycles and abilities. Meet our resident salamanders and then take an easy half-mile hike on the Sinking Stream Trail to see for yourself what makes Hobbs State Park the perfect salamander habitat. Immediately following the hike, you can learn how we chemically monitor the water quality and participate in the testing. Bring your lunch and enjoy the picnic area. All ages welcome. Meet at the Sinking Stream Trailhead. Recommended age for water monitoring activity is 8+. Spots are limited for this free event so pre-registration is required.
